🎵 In Person & Online Music Lessons at
the Chevy Chase Arts Academy🎵

Dear Students, Parents & Teachers

The Chevy Chases Arts Academy is taking a phased approach to reopening for in-person lessons starting July 20th. Online lessons will continue to be offered at the same capacity. For in-person lessons, we will start with several instructors at our home studio at a reduced capacity. Most of the instruction will stay online as we continue to take all precautions to address safety operations—safety of our students, teachers and community are a priority. In accordance with governmental orders and CDC guidelines, CCAA is taking extra precautions which include extensive cleaning  and social distancing practices. All teachers and students are required to wear masks during the lessons. Each of us will play an important role in making this transition safe for us all.

Safety Measures at the School

Amenities and programming will be consistent with governmental orders and guidelines, and we will require reservations for all students in order to enforce social distancing. Everyone must wear masks at all times. We ask that you come prepared with your own mask, sanitizer and disinfecting wipes. While we will have all those supplies handy and we’ll disinfect the surfaces between lessons, we ask that you also take extra precautions. Please do not come to CCAA if you are feeling ill, have a fever, a cold, are sneezing, and/or coughing even if this may be due to allergies. In addition, if you or anyone in your family has been around someone diagnosed with COVID-19, we ask that you do not come to the studio for two weeks after exposure. We must all assume that we could be an asymptomatic carrier of the COVID-19 virus and therefore may unintentionally transmit it to someone else. (An asymptomatic person is someone who does not show any symptoms of illness.) If you have any signs, don’t take a chance—please stay home and we’ll conduct the lesson via Zoom, or if you prefer—we can schedule an in-person make-up lesson at a later time.

Cleaning Protocols and Sanitization Process

We will follow stringent sanitation protocols for proper disinfection throughout the day and will do a deep cleaning, overnight to achieve a greater level of cleanliness.
