Policies and Conditions
Tuition
All payments are processed by pre-authorized credit cards or auto draft from checking accounts on the first of the month. Private lessons ($55 per lesson for weekly 30 minute virtual or in-person sessions at our location. (Price may vary depending on lesson duration and number of weeks within a given month). Tuition is never prorated for missed lessons. Tuition does not include any retail teaching materials such as books or instruments.
Cancellations and Makeups
For any lessons missed by a instructor, the Academy will attempt to provide a substitute instructor. If a substitute instructor is unavailable, a private makeup lesson with the instructor will be scheduled promptly. For any lesson missed by a student, the Academy holds one hour virtual (CDC restrictions during times of Covid) group make up classes several times a month. The classes are age and level appropriate and are help between the hours of 10am and 5pm. To sign up for a makeup class, contact the office and not the instructor for a date and time.
Discontinuing Lessons
To discontinue lessons and to discontinue charges to your account, fill out the withdrawal form before the 15th of your last month. We do not prorate tuition for the last monthโs lessons. Students will be responsible for their last monthโs tuition whether or not they attend lessons.
Number of Lessons per Month
Your tuition will be based on the length of the given month. In the long months, you will get five lessons, short months such as November and December, you will get three lessons, while on most months you will get four lessons. You will only be charged for the number of lessons in a given month. We do not charge our students for any holidays when the school is closed. Please check our yearly calendar on the website (https://makeawaveacademy.squarespace.com/calendar) for holiday information.
Summer Vacation
The CCAA operates year round and does not close for the summer. We are happy to offer unlimited makeups for our students, and they are held several times a month. If you are taking a month off for vacation and want to resume the next month, your payment is still due on the first of the month to reserve your lesson space. We want to be as accommodating as possible, but because we are a growing Academyโmaking personal accommodations based on individual studentโs vacation plans is not feasible. The lessons for the month you miss can be made up once you return from vacation at any time before the end of that fiscal year.
Care of Students
While we do our best to ensure the safety and well being of our students, the school is not responsible for providing before and after care for students. Parents with children under the age of eight must remain in the school waiting room, or in their car/near the entrance during the classes.
Open Door Policy
Parents are always allowed to sit in on lessons. We have an open door policy for all lessons!
Injuries
Parents, legal guardians of minors, students and adult students waive the right to any legal action for any injury sustained on school property resulting from normal lesson activity or any other activity conducted by the students or their siblings before, during, or after lessons time, including hearing loss or hearing damage. The CCAA is not responsible for any damage done to vehicles or items stolen from vehicles.
Picking Up
Children must wait for their parents to pick them up inside the Academy. Please do not ask them to meet you elsewhere. The CCAA assumes no responsibility for children who leave unaccompanied and we want to prevent any possible scenarios where your child could get hurt.
