Community Spotlight
Weโre excited to continue our Community Spotlight feature to showcase our students and instructors! We hope this will provide the opportunity for you to get to know your community members a little more in depth. This month please meet students Annika, Nina, and Gaia.
Annika, Nina, and Gaia started playing in 2021.
What are you currently listening to?
Annika: I currently listen to pop music, classical music and indie rock music.
Nina: I like classical music and pop music
Gaia: Classical Music
Who is your favorite composer
Annika: I think that my favorite composer is Vivaldi, but I also like Mozart and Haydn.
Nina: My favorite composer is Vivaldi
Gaia: Mozart
What do you like most about playing music?
Annika: The thing I like the most about playing music is that it makes me feel good. When I play I feel like all the things of my life disappear, and the only thing existing is the beautiful sound I'm making and my thoughts.
Nina: I enjoy that it's like learning a new language, and the music I play is pretty after some practice.
Gaia: It's like you feel the Music
Do you have a favorite song? If so, what is it?
Annika: I actually don't have A favorite song, I like a lot of songs. Here are some songs I like: Classical music; La Campanella- Paganini, Experience- Ludovico Einaudi . Modern Music; Reflections- The neighborhood, Waves- Dean Lewis, Falling-Trevor Danie
Nina: Yes, I have two favorite songs. I really enjoy Vivaldi's four seasons, especially Spring. Additionally, I enjoy the song Me Quemo Yo, Kendji Girac - Me Quemo
Gaia: Not really only one favorite song.
How often/what inspires you to practice?
Annika: What inspires me to practice it's usually my feelings, when I don't feel good, sad, angry or all the opposite; happy, good.. I want to play.
And also the things around me inspire me to practice because it gives me thoughts and need to think or not to think at all. Music helps me a lot.
Nina: I practice about 5โ6 times per week. My inspiration is to think that if I practice the sound would be beautiful and I want to be a great pianist.
Gaia: Whenever I have time, like after school
