Levon Millikan's Latest Project
Live at Blues Alley jazz club, Levon Mikaelian Trio
โI was inspired by the themes of my childhood through experiencing the innocence in my children. Becoming a father has felt like the biggest time restraint but on the flip sideโitโs been a big source of inspiration. You relive some of the purest sentiments through them. The other dimension to becoming a parent is having to set an example and teach them...they hold you accountable every step of the way.
I am lucky to be working with such amazing musician. I made a point earlier in my developmental stages, before my first album to go out and meet local musician, stay in for Jam-sessions. At that time I was so hungry for that contact, for being a part of a community that had the same passion and drive for music and today I am grateful for being a part of the DC jazz community. Two amazing musician I met, Jon Steele on bass and Kelton Norris on drums that showed so much dedication and love towards the untainted project. It was a truly a collaborative process...I am grateful to call them friends.โ
